报告摘要:The fifth generation of wireless communications promises massive Machine Type Communications, Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Communications and 100 times higher throughput in the enhanced Mobile Broad-Band communications. The complexity of future generation wireless systems will be increased to a point that classical computing may not be sufficient. When quantum computing becomes a commercial reality, quantum algorithms may replace their classical counterparts in wireless communication systems, heralding the era of quantum-assisted communications. Quantum based communications, which rely on the transmission and reception of quantum bits, or qubits, are expected to introduce genuinely new wireless paradigms, which were impossible to conceive with the aid of classical computing, such as 100% secure communications. By exploiting the inherent parallelism of quantum computing, quantum algorithms may aid in achieving the optimal performance of classical wireless processes, while requiring a reduced computational complexity.

In this talk, we will look at a number of optimization problems in wireless communications, while comparing the state-of-the-art classical solutions to a range of quantum-assisted solutions.
