报告摘要：This talk will give a brief history of the development of mathematics in Harvard, which also reflects the rising of mathematics in United States. Harvard has been one of the leading institutes in mathematics in the world in the last one hundred years. The history gives a lecture to those countries who desires to be strong in the basic science. The talk will make an attempt to explain some of the reason behind it.
