报告摘要：I will present the results of resolved optical sideband spectroscopy of a single laser-cooled calcium ion in a Penning trap. We observe sidebands arising from for the three motional modes and can determine their temperatures. The ion can be prepared in the ground state of its motion using resolved sideband cooling. We have also demonstrated, for the first time in a Penning trap, the creation and manipulation of a wide variety of ion Coulomb crystals (ICCs), which have potential applications in quantum simulations with trapped ions.
