报告摘要:Since the beginning of X-ray astrophysics theoreticians predicted a relevant role of polarimetry in this band, thanks to the prevailing of non-thermal emission processes and to the role of the radiation transfer in asymmetric systems, such as disks and columns. This did not occur, mainly because of the difficulties and of the low sensitivity of the techniques used to detect polarization. In recent years the development of gas detectors that use the photoelectric effect as analyzer of polarization, made the X-ray polarimetry much more sensitive (and attractive) than in the past. Moreover the modern techniques of photon transfer and detection makes attractive the polarimetry at higher energies (>20 keV) based on the Compton scattering.
