1) Zero electron kinetic energy (ZEKE) photoelectron spectroscopy: a historical perspective (9月5日上午10:00)The development of ZEKE spectroscopy is described as a high resolution method for the study of energy levels of molecular cations down to rotational states. I will review how the original concept developed towards the understanding of the ultra-long lifetime of very high-n Rydberg states. Examples of high-resolution spectra of molecules and molecular clusters will be analysed.

2) ZEKE spectroscopy of molecular clusters and non-covalent interactions (9月6日上午10:00)Molecular clusters are held together by non-covalent interactions, which are most important for the structure and dynamics of everything: bulk matter, liquids and biomolecules. I will describe experimental and theoretical methods to study such non-covalent interactions in molecular clusters, in particular, focussing on the problem of the most important stabilisation energy associated with non-covalent bonds.

3) A novel ultra-cold quantum plasma (9月7日上午10:00)A novel ultra-cold plasma produced in the expansion region of a supersonic jet shows very intriguing properties that can be explained by electron degeneracy and possible formation of an electron Wigner crystal. The consequences of electron degeneracy on the crystallisation of the ions in the plasma is discussed. The experimental observation of plasma compression show that the plasma does not behave as a gas but it has condensed phase properties, in line with theoretical predictions. This novel plasma could open the perspective of obtaining a Bose-Einstein condensate of molecular cations.
