报告题目:Conventional and Unconventional Criticality in Strongly Correlated Systems

报告摘要:We will start with an introduction of critical phenomena, including scaling theory and renormalization group. Then we will discuss examples for both conventional and unconventional critical points in condensed matter systems. As an example of conventional critical point, we will discuss classical phase transitions in iron-pnictides superconductors; for unconventional critical points, we will discuss quantum phase transitions driven by topological defects which carry nontrivial quantum numbers. The theory for unconventional critical points will be applied to the phase diagram of Hubbard model on the honeycomb lattice.
